QA Lead / Test Manager

Elcare Nordic in Växjö is now establishing a dedicated QA function and is looking for a QA Lead / Test Manager who wants to take clear ownership of quality. The role combines operational testing with responsibility for structure, working methods, and long-term quality in our systems and integrations.

Currently, testing is performed by the development team as time allows. We are now taking a long-term step to establish our own QA function focused on quality, stable deliveries, and more predictable development flows.

Your Responsibilities

The role combines overall responsibility for QA work with operational testing. You will be part of the development team and work closely with both developers and the business to ensure quality in our systems and integrations.

As a QA Lead, you will:

• Plan, execute, and follow up on testing of web-based applications, primarily Node.js and Next.js-based systems
• Perform end-to-end testing across multiple systems and integrations, including REST and JSON-based APIs
• Review and ensure the quality of requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Develop and maintain test cases, test plans, checklists, and test reports
• Identify, document, and follow up on deviations in GitHub and Jira
• Verify actions, conduct regression tests, and ensure release and production readiness
• Collaborate closely with developers on troubleshooting, improvement suggestions, and quality work
• Establish and further develop structures and working methods for QA and testing

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with experience in manual QA or testing in web-based and API-driven systems and who has a good understanding of how modern web applications work. You are used to working closely with development and are driven by combining structure with operational work.

In the role, we expect you to have:

• At least two years of experience in manual QA or testing of web-based and API-driven systems
• Good understanding of web development and browser behavior (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) as well as testing REST APIs and working with JSON
• Experience with testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia, and the ability to interpret technical logs and troubleshoot via, for example, browser console
• Familiarity with issue tracking systems like GitHub Issues or Jira, as well as good communication skills and documentation skills in English

Meritorious

• Experience in building or improving testing processes and QA structure
• Basic knowledge of test automation, such as Playwright, Cypress, or Jest
• Experience working with databases and SQL (MSSQL / PostgreSQL)
• Understanding of CI/CD flows and how testing integrates into these
